The Standard Recommendation for Antibiotic Therapy
I was always taught that antibiotic therapy has to either be a multiple of five or a number of weeks. What are you, what's the standard recommendation for how long we're striving this medicine? That's interesting because I thought the usual teaching was it had to be a football score. We wrestled with this like crazy in the 2011 guidelines. The only head-to-head study I knew of about treatment was that six weeks was no better than 14 days.
