England's World Cup History

England are in Group D with Italy, Uruguay and Costa Rica. Despite losing the opening game to one, I'm feeling a little bit positive. Maybe it's just me because many people in England have just kind of accepted that, well, maybe England don't have a chance this year. Let's not get too excited about it. Because what normally happens is that everyone seems to just expect that England are going to win. That puts a lot of pressure on the team and on the players. This time, it seems that everyone's kind of like a little bit resigned to failure. We've got used to it. 1966 was a great year for England - The Beatles were releasing classic albums.
