This was a bad court case in many ways and it was really problematic. What you actually do get is the legal system doing kind of its job over time, right? The idea that musicians are like individual geniuses making up unique combinations of sounds that no one else ever could is capital R romanticism, bullshit. It's an awkward fit with the actuality of human creativity and that this lawsuit and its results only highlight that.
