The new right-wing parties are sort of strange constructions and somewhat ramshackle political coalitions, says Simon Tisdall. Those things always coexist somewhat uncomfortably but this is the point at which they completely blew up on their faces, he adds. The only thing that's left then is to ditch all of those people and go for the lunatic far-right, ultra-neoliberal think tanks,. That's the only base they were left with.
