The Importance of Being Gay

I'm Gen X and growing up in the 80s and 90s, we said things were gay as an insult. Being a lesbian, a dyke was a super insult. And I went through a whole series of what we call bullying now. My quote unquote best friend in high school played a prank on me where she started a rumor that I was gay to show me who my real friends were. When this girl asked me out and her ex-girlfriend like wanted to beat me up, I was like, no, I like penis. That was my comeback. Like it was just, I was so brainwashed and just so determined to prove how not gay I was for whatever reason
