Teachers' Strikes in Higher Education
There are also going to be strikes in higher education as well later this year. University and College Union is escalating their strike action with a further 18 days of industrial action across February and March. We need an offer that actually adequately compensates teachers against very high inflation. But we also need a long term corrective to teachers pay. And then we need real negotiations about how the government is going to correct the imbalance in teacher pay, so it becomes a more attractive profession. It's just a shame that we're talking about a really grim story.
