The Double Axe of Knossars
The Knossars is a prehistoric society in this period. Later on you do have written texts but they haven't been deciphered until the end of the lifespan of the palace. Alongside these early drinking vessels Andrew also brought out a small clay coloured cup likewise found at Knossars but crafted several centuries later in around 1600 BC. What's so fascinating about this cup is that it has a strange double act symbol painted on it. It shows that the people who lived there or who party there called it the house of the double axe.
