Is This the Allegory of Moby Dick?

Victor: I've seen a lot of diferent readings of moby dick, which try to really insist that the story is an allegory. In some ways, ye, you could sort of mobidic. We're ultimately, like, you don't want to kind of fall into like, ahab's position and try to like figure out what does the white whale mean? What does bartleby mean? Like, it's more about the process of interpretation itself that perhaps melville is kind of trying to steer us towards.
