Being a Best Friend of God

Being a friend of God is not about having this pure life. It's about being able to feel the pleasure of God in us in our imperfect state. All of us have had best friends, and that friendship was never about service. When I'm with that person, I don't feel with anybody else. So when Jesus said, I no longer call you servants in John 15, 15, I call you friends. What matters most is that you feel my affection and that you enjoy me as you would a friend.
