Language Development - Is There a Rich Vocabulary?
There's the kind of sapphire worth hypothesis that even if language doesn't determine what you can think it certainly declines. The sort of softer version of it which is saying that even iflanguage doesn't determinewhat you can think, it certainly declines in some cases. And there are ways to get around this by defining your own terms for things and then combining them with words more commonly used. For example sexual harassment was not used in the language until I don't know the 1960s 70s or something. So when women had a sold in a way by a man or colleague or whatever, they couldn't even put it in good terms rightIt was very cumbersome to to talk about it to
