How to Use Wi-Fi Signals to Determine Location
An algorithm can use the signals from multiple low Earth orbit satellites to determine location. So basically, it's GPS, but without needing dedicated GPS satellites. This is less blockable and stronger and more comprehensively in coverage than GPS. The paper about the research was presented at the IEEE, ION position, location and navigation symposium.
