The Iron Discipline of the SMP
SMP seems to have pretended that there are no wings when actually, of course, there are. And it's perfectly healthy to have them. The difficulty for ordinary branches getting things onto the agenda to be discussed at conference was just an iron grip on that. I mean, I'm in it and I'm working to the timeframes and everything I've been given. But this would not be my preference. This is a different level of scrutiny where we should have full transparency and everything. It should all be accountable"
