Why did C.S. Lewis think natural law could make us human again? Michael Ward and Matthew Barrett

The Abolition of Man by John Gray
The Abolition of Man is Lewis's most prophetic and philosophical work. The picture that he paints is rather dystopian, it's a rather apocalyptic vision. He sees people treating themselves as so much raw material to be cut up and chopped about as they happen to want. We more generally are chopping up the natural world, the natural environment, just to suit our own purposes. It's admired across the spectrum. It's well worth sinking your teeth into if you haven't yet read it.
