The Virtues of Temperance
Technology can lead to overpassivity and a kind of evacuation of your agency as a human person. When you're tempted to break out your phone, don't be afraid or don't be oppressed by the recognition that here is an opportunity to be with Him even if it's less efficient than you could make of it. It's a tragedy that we can't encounter each other when we see each other. I think that people are really hungering for those chance encounters, really desiring to meet somebody and to not be afraid to actually have that conversation, to initiate it, and to smile.
