- Podcasts are highly unusual: podcast advertising is recalled just as much by female listeners as male listeners, according to a study released today by Sounds Profitable. That’s not the case in TV, radio, or even Reddit, where there is significant male bias in recall. “[Podcasting’s] gender parity in recall isn't just a fun statistical oddity,” says Tom Webster, “it's a window into something genuinely unique: a medium where your message is equally likely to break through regardless of which half of the population you're trying to reach.”
- The winners of the 2025 Quill Podcast Awards were announced. Podcast of the year went to Well, I laughed, “a podcast for listeners who find themselves in search of a good laugh and their next strange story to tell at parties.”
- Passes are now available for PodSummit YYC 2025 in Calgary AB, Canada this September. This year’s lineup of speakers is headlined by Jesse Lipscombe and our Editor James Cridland, with LIVE podcast shows from Sickboy (Jeremie Saunders, Brian Stever, and Taylor MacGillivary), and CBC’s Crime Story with Kathleen Goldhar.
