Is There a Difference Between the Written and the Simplified?

When i first came to japan, like a lot of people from the states and europe ar native english speakers. It took me e a long time to be able to read at any level of fluency. The conge we are talking about has always been kind of fascinating to me. I don't know any of it. I can't read it. So the way my English brain wants to impose itself on congi is to think of every character as like a letter of the alphabet. But i think that's completely wrong. There's a lot more information content in aa congi character than an aEnglish alphabet character.
