The Importance of Authorship in Film
Ishigaru Kazawa is a Nobel Prize winning writer. He wrote and directed the film ex Mackinac, which he says was never let go of him. Ishigaru: I've always had a problem with the film by credit. It seems to me like a novelist can say, I, Hillary Mantell wrote this book,. And I don't think that equivalent claim exists in film. So it's very difficult for me to stand there and say, yes, I'm, I'm the creative voice behind all these departments when you know you're not.
