The Leftward Shift in the Democratic Party
The terms liberal and conservative present a certain kind of interpretive difficulty when you start messing about with the data. So we've got a leftward shift in the Democratic Party. And I think it's safe to assume that the Republicans probably look the same in the other direction. That goes a long way to explaining the problem we had in the last presidential election.
