The Virgo Cemetery
In comparison to lavish elite graves found just a few dozen miles away in lower Bavaria, the Virgo cemetery seems pretty poor. It's more like there was extremely strong pressure to conform to a certain way of burying the dead. The people buried at Virgo were far more like the Holstot groups north of the Alps than their Alpine neighbors. But they clearly weren't poor and they weren't egalitarian because not everybody received rich grave goods.
