The IELTS exam requires a native speaker to speak for one to two minutes. "It seems like, okay, well, I could just speak for a minute then like that's all you're asking me to do," he says. The average native speaker who is not used to speaking for two minutes won't be able to fill in the rest of the question with interesting vocabulary and explanations.
