Afghanistan - The Storm of Stall
Younger talks in the book about soldiers, after various incidents of a dramatic nature, starting to lose their enthusiasm for the war. And i think that definitely happened with afghanistan. Younger describes a number of anecdotes where he has difficulty rallying troops. A lot of soldiers basically have to be forced to continue fighting at at gun point. It's amazing how younger, even at the end, is able to maintain some semblance of courage given how many close friends, even his brother, is wounded over the course of the war. I mean, throughout the book, i think he even mentions a soldiers that were killed that were like expectant fathers, you know, which, as you point out in
