The Effects of Fluid Bolus on Cardiovascular Collapse
In both trials, there was no difference in any component of cardiovascular collapse between the fluid bolus and no fluid bolus group. So why is that? We had this very strong physiologic rationale. We had a prior trial that showed a group that appeared to benefit and that we went on to test that hypothesis in a subsequent randomized trial. And it doesn't appear as if targeting a different population within the trial would have led to different results.
