The Effects of Affirmative Action Policies on Minority Students

Sowell points out that minority faculty suffer some of the same psychological effects as minority students who are mismatched with colleges. Affirmative action policies create not only double standards for performance in colleges and universities, they also create double standards for behavior. According to owell, soell gives many examples of how manority students are allowed behaviors which would never be tolerated of white students. Sowll says this, as preferentially admitted minority students began to turn from academics to activism, including disruption and violence.
