The Autotelik Personality

Autotelik Personality is someone who performs activities because they are intrinsically rewarding. While there may be an external goal associated with the activity, they find the activity so intrinsically rewarding that they do not worry about the external reward. The traits that mark an Autotelik personality are most clearly revealed by people who seem to enjoy situations that others might find unbearable. Some individuals succeed in transforming their harrowing conditions into a manageable and even enjoyable struggle; many others would succumb to the ordeal.
