Neuroscientists and physicists seem particularly poorly placed to appreciate this. I am part of the causal chain. No one else is making the choice. This is pretty uncontroversial. And even sam harris agrees that choices are real. He just wants to deny that we have the free will to make them. But because i think this entire sequence of what's going on, the fact that i'm the one making the choices, the choices exist, it's me, as part of the causative chain, that is doing x.
