If you had the opportunity to, why wouldn't you save the five? I'm sure you remember last episode. The i a being that what is right or what is good is always the action where the consequences of that action maximizes utility. Utilitarianism was developed by jeremy bentham and refined by john stuart mill. To a utilitarian, the right decision in any situation is just the one where the consequences insure the greatest amount of utility to the greatest number of people.
