The Death of the Habsburg Empire
In 1805, Napoleon defeated the Austrian and Russian joined armies at the Battle of Austerlitz. This massive battle forced Austria's capitulation. In 1806 Franz preemptively dissolved the empire to be abolished after more than 800 years of rule. And for the first time all of the Habsburg realms were formally claimed as one singular state under one dynastic ruler and one capital.
