The Definition of Pediatric ARDS

The acute is formalized as having an inciting insult within seven days of meeting the rest of the criteria. The chest x-ray criteria is defined as new capacities that are not adelectasis or plural effusion. Patients with cyanotic heart disease and who are chronically mechanically ventilated can also have pediatric ARDS, but their severity is undefined. They just need to have a deterioration and oxygenation above their baseline or worse than their baseline.
