Iran is a society in which women are relatively speaking very well educated compared to its income level. 71% of women over the age of 25 have at least some secondary schooling compared to 76% of men. Women's labor market participation in Iran is only 14%. That's half the Saudi Arabian participation rate, which is closer to 30%. So, it's really extraordinarily low.
