In total, it's four packages. It's core, which used to be the main three Js classes as swell components. Extras and extras provides useful abstractions on top of these core components. So for example, loading a glTF file that you would export from blender is kind of a tedious process in vanilla three Js. I think all the major 3D software is now support exporting GTF. Because before GTF, that was pretty different.
