Slinger believed that all the arts were susceptible to vigorous mathematical analysis. Schillinger planned to work with terman to try to invent a machine that could compose, perform and transmit music. The two men never achieved this, but schillinger became very, very respected as some one with a rigorous theory of musical structure. Though reading is magnemopus, the schillinger system of musical composition is, frankly, like wading through trecle.
