Both the successors of the apostles and the rabbis claim to rule the authority of their founder. Parallel number six is that both groups claim to be guided by the holy spirit. So what i'm trying to show here is that if you're interpreting the power to bind and loose, then what's going on so far in the original jewish context of the new testament is not unfounded.
