I remember my dad having this feeling of something's about to go wrong, something's up right now. And all of these police cars flying down, you would have honestly thought a murder had taken place in our community. My experience through those foster homes, those family policing facilities or homes, I should say, were one where I was not safe. I was not cared for or loved. For me, all I wanted to do was go back home to my family community. As a black man, you were not going to fight the police. That's what we're taught raising, being raised. You don't talk back. You just listen obey because you likely die."
