Churchill's Skin in the Game

Churchill repeatedly put himself in the path of physical danger to achieve his goals. It is estimated that he was shot at in 50 different occasions during his life. He joined the British Army in 1895 and saw action in British India, the Anglo-Sudan War, and the Second Borough War. Churchill returned to battle many years later in Flanders from November 1915 to May 1916,. eventually commanding the sixth Royal Scots Fusiliz. His decisions to visit the trenches multiple times as home secretary vastly improved the opinions that others had of Churchill. This skin in the game gave Churchill a unique perspective.
