The show is based on the world of sutomu nihei who did nights of sidonia and blame. The background art is fantastic it's all hand drawn still and it looks really cool, somehow the blocky characters exist within it pretty well. I like the visual presentation of the show it probably doesn't have the same polish that dragon has but nonetheless I thought it was really compelling kind of scratches that itch of adventure of mystery of fantasy mysticism.
