"It took me a long time to get to the point where I was really comfortable talking to anybody at a bar," he says. "A lot of guys want to be good talking to women of bars because they see that as a marker of masculinity or an accomplishment, or they see it." He adds: "I think what Charlie realized, and what I did too, is that like, I don't want to see, pointless is the wrong goal".
