Phelitomide - The New Drug
Thelidymide was on the market for roughly five years before it was banned. Its german manufacturer, chemi grunenthal, first denied the disastrous side effects before ultimately accepting blame. Already more than seven thousand children have been born with some or all of their arms and legs missing. Every doctor, every hospital, every nurse has been notified. A problem of tighter controls to prevent the distribution of dangerous drugs such as phelitomide is a matter of concern to the president.
