After the New Statesman, you completely reinvented what you do in political journalism. The world is transformed from filing a column to doing live shows and blogs. I think it's changed for the better, though it must be exhausting for the current staff. When I was there, it was just me,. Now it's much bigger, and there are many more opportunities. And I think it is much more exciting, to be honest. It's a bit like White Russians arguing about chess in 1920 in Paris or whatever.
