Did the French Respect the Americans as a Fighting Force?
The French did not have a very high regard for the American soldiers. They also had quite rightly deep suspicions that the American people did not have the wherewithal to see this thing to the end. The French Pie Command was very fearful that they would just be deserted by the Americans and forced to get out of North America.
