The Importance of Uniting Churches in the Portland Area
In 2008 a group of Portland pastors wanted to unite hundreds of churches in the area for an evangelistic festival. They were embarrassed that they had never done anything like this before and met with then-mayor Sam Adams who was first openly gay mayor elect of top 25 cities. "We're known more for the negative than the positive," he said, but we could mobilize 15,000 Jesus followers from several hundred churches across the area. 'The hardest thing is to get genuine trust into believers'
