Hip Osteoarthritis - What's the Best Way to Diagnosis?
Radiographic hip osteoarthritis is really common in the general population and it's often asymptomatic. Patients with severe or unremitting symptoms should clearly undergo radiographic imaging. If the radiographs are normal this should merit a further search for alternative causes. These patients will probably at that stage require orthopedic referral to discuss treatment options.
