In mid twentieth century writing was getting published in the paris review. It also published established writers at a time like t s eliot, ernest hemmingway. Paris review was founded by three people, harold humes, peter mathison and george plimpton. In the 19 fifties, people didn't really know how evil folked up and weird the c i a were.
