My 97-year-old father, a World War II veteran, lived alone for many years in his home before passing away three months ago. As he became increasingly disabled, his neighbors became increasingly wonderful. When it came time to sell Dad's house, we decided to honor the legacy of good neighbors. Instead of choosing the highest offer, we sold the house to a family we knew would be good neighbors to people who had been good to Dad.
