The Importance of Margin in the Economy
Companies seem to be keen to gouge because the margins haven't been incredibly high for a long time. Inflation obviously affects those who are less well off more than it does, those who are well off. It's a very arbitrary, regressive kind of tax on people's welfare. What also concerns me about what we're going through right now is higher interest rates are going to punish a very specific segment of the population. And they will actually benefit other people.
