Are We Liars?

I do think that we get aspects of Luther's doctrine of salvation that they have, I think, either neglected or left behind. So if you look at what the Lutherans confess in 1580 in the book of Concord, it does not agree entirely with what Luther wrote in what he regarded as his most important book. We've always tried to engage with the whole church. You know, we did that in the 16th and 17th centuries. We've had ecumenical dialogues with faithful Greek Orthodox people when they would do it. And so a statement that is crucial for Christians on principles isn't just a denomination but an entire church.
