The second beginner mistake that I often see made is people trying to tell stories with dashboards. Before my time at Storytelling with Data, I was working for an insurance company and I was tasked with redesigning an hourly sales dashboard. My two main takeaways from the book were that I needed to use less color and use more gray instead of emphasizing uninteresting data.
