Gnosticism and Neoplatonism - What's the Difference?
In alexandria, with the neoplatonists and the hermits and the christian gnostics. All these different groups had very similar ideas. I think if you're an evil or malicious person, then you can't get to thi stical experience. It's anothera reason for the allegory of going to heaven and hell when you die. You can't be close to god unless you're a good person. We have hierarchies of being and emanations in gnosticism and neoplatonism, respectively. And yet, we still have this eternal principle, this eternal, perfect something within the system. Or are you in the one eyeballing each other?
