The United States Federal Witness Protection Program
The united states federal witness protection programme, also known as the witness security program, or witse, is a witness protection program administered by the United States department of justice. It provides 24 hour protection to all witnesses while they are in a high threat environment. Witnesses and their families typically get new identities with authentic documentation. Housing sub assistance for basic living expenses and medical care are provided to the witnesses. Job training and employment assistance may also be provided. The witness security program has successfully protected approximately 19 thousand participants, including victim witnesses and co operating defendants from intimidation and retribution since the programme began in 19 71.
