Is Joe Biden Right to Do It?
Biden's action will increase costs by reassuring college administrators that the federal government is likely to step in if it considers student debt has become too great. Biden can't have this both ways: If college is a wonderful place that helps those who attend, then there's no excuse for his demand that those who on average are less well off, must pay the bills of those who do. It would take an act of Congress, Pelosi said, not an executive order to cancel student loan debt.
