Is There Evidence for Differences in Metacognitive Sensitivity?
There should be essentially metacognition differences between cultures like across cultures, but also within cultures, how people have been reared. Is there evidence for that? I forget in the book. So my PhD student, Elisa van de Plast, did a leather study looking at metacognitive sensitivity in with a collaborative of ours in Beijing and in London. And we did find a subtle advantage in metacognitive ability in the Chinese sample. Obviously, we don't know why that is. It's, it's, and we speculate perhaps it is something to do with ... more emphasis on admitting when you might be wrong than the kind of Western individualistic society.
